A neat and clean office is a silent motivator. While it will go unnoticed by your employees, it will do wonders for their productivity. A pristine office is also visually appealing and will make a good first impression on potential clients. While a commercial cleaning service may seem like a bland, mundane expense, it should be considered an investment.

To cut down costs, yet reap the benefits a pristine office has to offer, consider making your own homemade cleaning solutions.

Basic All-Purpose Floor Cleaner

This floor cleaner works well on sealed wood, laminate, linoleum and tile. Mix together equal parts white distilled vinegar and hot water. Mop the floor and leave it to dissipate naturally. The white vinegar will evaporate on its own and leave your floors nice and shiney.

Wood Floor/Furniture Cleaner

To create a wood cleaner/polish that's ideal for floors and desks, pour half a cup of olive oil and half a cup of lemon juice into a bucket of hot water. After you dip your mop-head or cloth into the solution, ring it out so it's just damp. Apply the cleaning agent to your wood floors and desks, and let it dry naturally. The lemon will clean and sterilize the surface, while the olive oil will polish it.

All-Purpose Disinfectant

This is an effective treatment for bathrooms, kitchens and parts of your office that are a hotbed for bacteria. Pour half a cup of powdered sodium borate into a bucket of hot water. Stir the mixture until it has fully dissolved. Mop the floor, wipe down the walls, scrub sinks and toilets, and let the solution dry naturally. Sodium borate is a natural disinfectant that will kill almost all bacteria.

Fabric Upholstery Cleaner

To clean chairs, sofas and other upholstery, mix half a cup of white vinegar, half a cup of warm water, and half a teaspoon of natural liquid soap into a spray bottle. Shake it around until it's thoroughly mixed together. Spray a light layer over your upholstery and scrub the area with a dry cloth in a circular motion.

A clean office will not only improve productivity and create a more comfortable workspace, but will create a safer, healthier environment. This could reduce sickness and save you money over time. If you hire a service like Delron Carpet Cleaning Service and/or start teaching eco-friendly cleaning habits to your employees using the above solutions, it won't take long until you see positive results.
